Paceline gives you the center of that distribution by collecting every asking price across marketplaces daily, discarding outliers, and reporting the median plus the 25th to 75th percentile range — broken out by brand, model, year, and groupset tier so you compare like with like.

How is the valuation calculated?

Three steps. First, we monitor major used-bike retailers and marketplaces daily — asking prices, sold prices, photos, model years, and specs. Second, each listing is matched by make, model, year, trim, and build so a 2022 Emonda SLR 9 is never averaged with a 2018 SL 5. Third, sold prices, live listings, groupset tier, and new-retail benchmarks are combined to produce a realistic market estimate with a confidence rating.

How often is the data updated?

Daily. Every valuation page is rebuilt from the previous 24 hours of marketplace activity, so what you see today reflects yesterday's actual market — not a fixed depreciation table that hasn't been touched in a year.

Accepted Answer

Used road, gravel, track, time-trial, and drop-bar pedal-assist (electric road, electric gravel) bikes across the US, UK, EU, AU, and JP markets. Hundreds of model lines across the major brands. Mountain bikes and BMX are out of scope today.
